“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”
“When you inhale, you are taking the strength from God. When you exhale, it represents the service you are giving to the world.”
“The BODY is your temple, keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in.”
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
When yogis hear ‘hanumanasana’ called out in class, they either rejoice or revile…the splits are coming!
Actually, Hanuman is the Monkey God in the Hindu pantheon, worshiped as a symbol of physical strength, perseverance, and devotion. A link to shed more insight into Hanuman: www.pantheon.org/articles/h/hanuman.html
So next time you hear hanumanasana! put a smile on your face and rejoice..
A certified yoga instructor at last…
- Ardha Chandrasana in North Adams, MA
Officially completed my 200-hour yoga teacher certification August 18, 2012 at Frog Lotus Yoga International Studio in North Adams, MA. The month-long immersion was a life transforming experience that catapulted my practice, knowledge, and passion for yoga into another stratosphere. Program leader Jennifer Yarro (check out her website: www.jenniferyarro.com) and her awesome soiree of goddesses (S’jonum, Danielle, Alicia, and Tessa) inspired and informed to the nth degree and I’m totally psyched to share with my future students.
A cool saying, “your biography is your biology,” has stuck with me as I reflect back on a lifetime of fitness, exploration, and passion for all forms of movement. All the years others told me I needed to relax, chill, settle down (pick any adjective resonating with sit on your fanny), I ran, tumbled, rode, and grooved through years of movement that has now, at long last, morphed gorgeously into a new career path that allows me to share my passion with others.
Looking forward to new teaching gigs..stay posted for where you can find my classes, and, hire me if you’re looking to add a teacher to your class schedule!
